Triphala — literally 'three fruits' — is the cornerstone of Ayurvedic internal medicine. Charaka and Sushruta both prescribed it as a daily rasayana to balance vata (Haritaki), pitta (Amla) and kapha (Bibhitaki) — the only formula said to harmonise all three doshas simultaneously.
